There is no doubt that the Cavs will go thru big changes next season. Personally, I think Lue should go. For the roster, Love/Smith/Thompson can be let go if possible. Love is not a player who can maintain his top performances during ferocious crunch times like in the playoff. His reflex and skills are not the tops. In game 5, we can see that his crunch time shootings dropped, plus his reflex was too slow and missed some key rebounds that he should have grabbed first. JR Smith shoots well (though not necessarily that consistent), but he is spending too much time on the perimeter and not helping enough on rebounding. He averaged only 1.6 rebounds per game throughout the GSW series and that's very poor for a 6' 6" player. As for Thompson, he simply didn't play hard enough during this series. Unfortunately, it's not that easy for the Cavs to do many changes due to contract and trade limitations.... |
